牛腩, beef brisket!!!!!!!!!!!

終於....做了牛腩..

Finally made beef brisket! Yum.....

Both my roommate love this! Here I want to specially thanks Tommy + roommates for the recipe!

Ingredients :

-Beef brisket - 2~3 lbs
-White Radish ~Depend on how much you like it.... I had at least 4lbs here cuz I LOVE radish but you can put less!
- a few pieces of ginger + green onions (only want the white/light green end without the roots) , cut in big pieces.
- a can of chicken broth
- soy sauce to taste
- oyster sauce to taste
- salt to taste
- 4 tbsp chu hou paste

1. Boil the beef brisket until all blood are gone, easier to cut that way. Cut with knife or scissors to smaller about 1x1 inch cubes (smaller you cut, the faster it tenderize)

2. Cut the radish to big pieces like this, set aside.

3. Fried the spring onions and ginger in the pot you are cooking the beef brisket in

5. Add a can of chicken broth. Add water until it covers the beef brisket after the broth.
6. Add 4 tbsp of Chu Hou Paste

7. Add salt, soy sauce, and oyster sauce to taste.
8. Boil for 1.5 hours on low heat, scoop all the oil on the top. It will be greasy because brisket has quite a lot of fat. Just like the tummy of mine :p haha.
9. Add radish and cook for another half an hour.

Ta da!!!!!! The finish product.... yummm I could of boil it for a little longer but I was really hungry :D woo hoo , had it with udon! yummmmmmm
That will be our dinner for 3, 4 nights :p but its good so i dont mind! lol

Korean food again ^^

Since I had a really bad Korean food the other day, I have always want better ones. Therefore I pick Dick up after school today and went to the one in downtown. It is call Alirang (I think) and Its located behind the loblaws on Rideau Street. It's the best Korean restaurant in Ottawa.

Me testing my camera on Dick. It actually turn out really really good!

Me and my drink pictures. Always taking picture of drinks :p hehe

Finally the main dish :D Its soooooooo goood! The meat just falls off the bones, and its so spicy and so much flavor!!!

The everything :d Free refill for all of these!! I had soooo much food!!!!

Rating :
Service : 9/10 they were very quick today! I guess its because they are busy
Food : 9/10 I wish they would bring me more appetizers :D i love them!!! The gamjatang was soooooooooo goood tho! I will give that a 10 ! Altho I would love them if they give me more potatoes in the gamjatang.
Environment : Very clean, very decorated! I havent took all the pictures yet , but they have nice fish tanks, pictures, everything!!! 9/10!
Price: 8/10 i do find it a little expensive. Is it worth it , YA ! Yet i would like it if the price is little lower. Its 9.95 + tax + tips for one gamjatang, but then again u do get the free refill on food so ...

Overall rating 8/10!
Will I go back ? ALWAYS this is like my 10th time eating there. They use the proper Korean utensils so its kinna kool to see that!!

Yummy BBQ Pork!!!!!!! (Char siu)

Recipe @ http://www.opensourcefood.com/people/MrsThPoint/recipes/chinese-bbq/

It was really really really really yummy! We found it a little salty and we didn't put a whole jar of BBQ sauce. We had to add a little honey on the top while baking and a little brown sugar to the sauce ^^ It was very very easy and very very very yummy!! Thank you Mrs. ThPoint!

Cut ..inside. It was very weird because it has both dark and white meat. This is the first day that I know there white and dark meat in pork too ? Well you learn something new everyday! This is a pork shoulder i think that i bought. It was $3.88 CND and its nearly 3 lbs.

Sandra the roommate cutting to meat. Now you know why I always use WE. Its because WE always do silly things and LOVE taking pictures of all the food i eat!

Wow .. First picture of me here ! ^^ hehe ! I wasn't really cutting it, just pretend. Sandra said I look like a butcher!

We also made a pretty salad from you know what, left over peppers from last night! Look so pretty tho!!!!
Don't forget your veggies guys! Last, this is something I can't live without, and I got Sandra into it:p Drink Tea, this is bad bad bad lol!

the teriyaki sauce we use !

The beef was little too hard because we had put in our fridge for a little too long or cooked too long. I didn't like the extra ginger taste that was in the sauce. Its not bad tho!!! It looks pretty hehe:p I really cant dis it because i didnt cook it :p hehe

I like the cup i "stole"

See I go ballistic with my camera.... :D Well def. need to practice...... I shake wayyyyyyy too much!

Garlic Shrimp ~ Nov.13 dinner

This recipe is a modified version for http://www.opensourcefood.com/people/jojoyuki/recipes/oven-baked-garlic-prawn/

Instead of using prawns i used shrimp : This is the recipe

-400g of shrimp
- 1 and a half garlic, chopped into small pieces
- basil, thyme, cilantro, and paprika herbs, but u can use any herbs u like
- half a lemon (make sure its not bitter lol mine was bitter :( )
- olive oil
- soya sauce
- salt and white + black pepper

1. Boil the shrimp with salt to get the seafood taste away
2. Chopped garlic, mix with herbs, pan fried it with olive oil + soya sauce
3.. Pour a little olive oil on a pan that will go in the oven to bake the shrimp. Dry the shrimp and put them on pan.
4. Add s+ p, squeeze lemon juice on top of the shrimps.
5. lay garlic mix on top of the shrimp evenly and put it in the oven at 350F.
6. Baked for 5 min, stir it a little, serve with what i had tonight was premade mash potatoes and celeries... yummmmmm

i took the picture with my phone and it has a crappy camera ( W100 sony ericsson)because Sandra didnt come home earlier enough before i eat all my food and I forgot the charger for my charger in Dick's car. I will et the charger for tmw!!! Can't wait. I now can take a lot a lot a lot of pictures ^^

Sweet ribs :D 排骨 Nov. 12 Dinner

甜甜排骨 Sweet little pig (thats me lol) ribs

Ingredients ( it really varies according to how many portion would u like to make)
- ribs, cut into little piece or have a rack
- Hoyseen Sauce
- BBQ sauce of any brand
- Brown sugar
- Water
-Garlic

I tried with both rib racks and chopped little ribs, I like the little ones better because it cook a lot faster and the taste its a little stronger :D

1. Marinate your ribs with Chop Garlic or Garlic powder, Hoyseen Sauce and BBQ sauce just enough to cover the the whole ribs. 1 ~ 2 hours before cooking would be enough, you can leave it overnight if you really want.
2. Bake at 350F for around 20~40 minute. Chopped ribs takes around 15~ 20 minutes. Rib rack takes longer.
3. I love sauce but this is optional, its good on rice and to be a dipping sauce for ribs. Pour the oil/sauce from the rib pan you just baked with into a cooking pot and cook on lowest heat possible.
4. Add 2 tablespoon of BBQ sauce and Hoyseen sauce. More if you like the sauce and want to make more. Add 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. If the taste is too strong u can add a little water and a little olive oil.

I ate it with rice (the best thing to go with!!!! ) and kimchi last nite.... soooooo gooood

Thank u Sandra for taking and uploading the pictures!!!!
